Determined Little Man
Determined little man
with a cane
steps up
on the wet edge
of a wind blown fountain.
Flustered white hair
dances
a tango
with the summer wind.
Looks atme
and generates a senior citizen
phlegm noise
in his throat as if to speak
but
seeing my pack
and dog-earer tablet
changes his mind,
knowing I don't speak German.
Turns back to his fountain,
with a tiny little hand
on his tiny little cane
and one arm straight out for balance
lifts his cane
drives it down
into the choppy water
and pauses.
